Willy Frownfelter III

Willy Frownfelter III is the featured artist for July and will have his opening reception on July 5th our First Friday event.

Free refreshments and also Sochi will be serving FREE MATCHA Samples. 

Willy has developed a wide array of creative abilities throughout the last decade; custom picture framing, landscape design, and 3D modeling have helped shape him into the artist he is today. Willy currently resides in downtown Durango and is very exctied to join Create Art and Tea as a home base for his creative endeavors.

I have been an artist and an athlete my entire life so balancing the two has always proven difficult yet rewarding. Between skiing, hockey, soccer, basketball, and adventuring into the mountains, having time to sit down and create has always been very important to me.

I have always found inspiration in the simplicity of nature and have always been mesmerized by the subtle changes throughout the seasons. There aren’t many things I am not interested in painting. I consider my art a mix of realism and impressionism as I usually work to combine multiple concepts into a single piece that you may not necessarily be able to capture with a camera. Landscapes and clouds have always been my favorite, however I have more recently found joy in creating portraits of people and animas again. I plan to utilize the knowledge I have gained throughout the years to create some very unique pieces moving forward.
