Nothing says love like something handmade because everything made by hand is made by heart.
In this class you will create hearts and flowers using various gauges of copper wire. Your items can be used as jewelry, as ornaments, for package adornment, or for any application you desire.
Tools and supplies to be provided include:
chain nose pliers, round nose pliers, flush cutters, hammer and block, copper wire.
No experience required.
Feel free to bring your own tools if you prefer.
Organic shapes intrigue me and I work with a theme until a new idea strikes my fancy. My process usually begins with a design idea sparked by a color combination or shape I have seen or imagined. Sometimes I make a sketch, but more often I simply play with my materials and see where it takes me.
I’ve been twisting wire and stringing beads for more than two decades. My designs are hand crafted with love from a variety of genuine semi-precious gemstones, freshwater pearls, shells, and other beads combined with silver, copper, brass, leather, hemp, and upcycled found objects.
Most of my pieces are done in copper which I patinate and polish. I also work with fine silver, sterling silver, Argentium ® silver, and 14K gold-filled wire. I learn something with every project, and I enjoy experimenting with new techniques.
