sandra heller
Living in Durango, Colorado, Sandra is a full time professional artist. The changing seasons of the Four Corners provides constant inspiration for her plein air and studio work. Most of the year she is out painting this rich and varied environment. She has also traveled extensively and painted in many beautiful locations including France and Italy.
Sandra received a Bachelor of Fine Art from California College of the Arts in Oakland. She continued her education in workshops with nationally known artists. An award winning artist, she participates yearly in juried shows and has had eight solo exhibitions in galleries. Her two-person show "Inspirations from Ireland" was exhibited in Newport Beach, CA. She has taught painting to children and adults at an art center in Texas.
Sandra supports shows for the La Plata County Open Space Conservancy and the San Juan Citizens Alliance to help preserve this beautiful part of the country. With art and gardening being so compatible, she organizes the plein air artists to participate in the annual Durango Botanical Society Gardens on Tour. One of her poppy paintings was the featured work for the 2015 Durango Home and Ranch Show.
