Susan Crouch lives in Durango, CO.
Watercolor has been my teacher for over 30 years. I’ve learned a few things about putting paint on paper, but the most important lessons have been the ones that crossed over into real life. Lessons like… “Start with a plan, but be flexible along the way.” “Don’t wait until you feel like it to begin.” “Leave room for mystery.” And the lessons go on.
My inspiration comes from the natural world with a focus on interpreting rather than replicating what I see. I enjoy combining realism and abstraction in the same painting. This opens a door which invites the viewer to connect with my watercolor in their own way. My hope is to create art that resonates visually and makes a personal soul connection as well.
