Fall Gallery Walk

It was the first day of fall, or so it seemed. A warm inviting breeze grazed my face as I glanced up at the trees. Some of the leaves were already turning hues of red and yellow. Music filled the air as I trekked across Buckley Park headed to the Fall Gallery Walk. Put on by The Art Galleries of Durango, this annual event is a great time to visit and support all of Durango’s galleries. Many of the galleries offer refreshments and an opportunity to meet the artists. The art scene has been steadily growing in our little mountain town over the last few years with the development of the Durango Creative District and many collectives, galleries, and art spaces popping up all around. Providing art lovers with a plethora of art to connect with and many events to attend, like the Fall Gallery Walk. The first gallery on my list, Create Art and Tea hosts the works of around 70 artists, almost all of whom are Durango locals themselves. This wide range of artists and artisans fills the gallery with art that brings us a variety of unique perspectives and creative expressions. You're sure to find something beautiful and inspiring to take home. A little gift of art to brighten your life. After looking at the new pieces in the gallery, sampling teas and treats, chatting with friends, and listening to live music by the multi-talented Kim Mastler. I headed out to visit the other great galleries in our ever-growing art-based town.
